PM Nepal met President; both express worry over Maoist decision to declare states

Kathmandu 11 Dec: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Friday evening and discussed the latest political developments in the country including the Unified CPN (Maoist)'s decision to declare federal states.

During the meeting held at Shital Niwas, the Office of the President, Prime Minister Nepal briefed the President on the ongoing dialogue between the three parties to resolve the prolonged deadlock as well as the government's position over the Maoist decision to declare federal states, among others, PM's political advisor Raghuji Panta, who was present at the
meeting, told Image Television.The PM told the President that the Maoist move breaches of the peace process and undermines the very essence of the Constituent Assembly.

According to Panta, both the President and the PM expressed worry over the Maoist decision.

Earlier today, the Maoists declared Kochila and Limbuwan states without geographical demarcation.
